5 Signs It's Time to Rebrand

Sometimes, our brands need a self-care day too.

There are times in our lives when we feel the need to refresh. This can come in the form of getting a new haircut, buying some new clothes, and cleaning up your house. At times, you can feel this way about your brand too. A reset can be remotivating when we find ourselves in a slump. Here are 5 signs that it’s time for you to rebrand.

Your Brand Design Has Become Outdated

Since 2010 the world of technology and web design has taken over our lives even more than we thought it had before. The quality of graphics and images produced continues to be updated constantly. Your logo or website design should be updated according to these changes. A pixelated, poorly designed website can deter people from the product or service you are offering. Brands are constantly changing to stay up to date. Instagram, Facebook, and Youtube have changed their logos since the early 2010s to adapt. Consider whether or not your logo needs to be revamped.

It Doesn't Represent the Vision You Have of Your Brand

You may have had a very specific view of what you wanted your brand to look like and stand for when you first started. However, this view may have changed over time. Now that your business is in a different place than it was a few years ago, you may need to reevaluate what your brand stands for. Your brand design should reflect the mission statement and vision you have of your brand. If it doesn’t, it may be time for a change.

Your Target Market Has Changed/You've Found a Niche Market

Finding a niche market can be a wonderful thing for your business. You know exactly the market to target that will deliver the results you desire. However, you may not have known this niche market was going to be where you would thrive. Your brand design might not resonate with that target market the way you want it to. If you plan to stay focusing on that niche, your brand may need a touch-up to connect with your audience more.

You Aren't Proud of Your Brand Design Anymore

If you find yourself resisting handing out business cards or cringing a little when you visit your brand's website, it’s time for a change. You have worked hard to build your business up to where it is today. Your brand design should reflect that and make you proud to share its image with the world. If you aren’t feeling that way, consider how your brand design could be changed to ignite that sense of pride in you again.

The Products/Services You Are Offering Have Changed

Similar to reaching a target market, you may have changed the products and/or services you offer. If what you’re trying to sell varies from what you originally set out to do, you may need to reflect on your branding. Does your brand still represent what you are selling? Or has it grown apart as your business model has adapted? This is a sign that it may be time to rebrand.

With these signs of needing to rebrand in mind, what do you do if you need to rebrand? You can explore using free services such as Canva for a logo design or Wix for updating your website.
